Step 3: Clarity questions
Describe how clearly you follow speech.
The Clarify step asks how well you follow everyday speech. As in the previous step, follow-up questions appear only when they apply.
Do you find it difficult to understand women's or children's voices?
Choose Yes or No. High-pitched voices are often the first to become hard to follow.
When you watch television, is speech hard to understand?
If you answered No to the first question, you are asked: "When you watch television, is speech hard to understand? Do you turn up the volume or use captions?" Choose Yes or No.
In general, do sounds feel clear, just not loud enough?
This appears if you are not sure about your hearing loss and answered No to both earlier questions. Choose Clear but Not Loud or Clear and LOUD.
If you choose Clear and LOUD, the wizard replies that your hearing appears to be very good and suggests you try Sharpness, Consonants and Vowels for even more clarity.
